Type: Retrieval
Requisites: 1-3 Fighting Scale, High Intelligence
Destination: Abandoned Third Party Underground City
Objective: Search out and collect Third Party relics, writings, and anything that might be of use.
Purpose of the mission: Due to the unstable conditions of the underground city, the Malnosso will not allow subjects deemed too powerful to engage on this mission, lest the city be brought down upon them. Any weapons or objects that could be used to bring down the structure will be confiscated before the mission begins. Since the attack on the Underground City, the Third Party have completely vacated the area. Though most of their writing was destroyed by the cultists, some relics and ruins of their culture remain, hidden away from sight. Unable to dedicate the resources to search out information, the Malnosso have approved using intelligent subjects experienced in areas of archaeology, research, and checking out ruins. Subjects may encounter crude traps set up to ward off intruders and will need to be able to avoid or disarm them in some instances.
Third Party writing and relics are expected to be primitive in nature. In previous encounters, cultist writing is noted to come in the form of hieroglyphs, using visual imagery for language. Due to the deep metaphorical nature of the cultist language, it will likely be impossible for subjects to truly understand the writing without the proper context to translate it. Thus all relics and writings should be turned over to Malnosso specialists for translation and inspection.
